About HerpHub

HerpHub exists for one reason: most turtle care advice on the internet is outdated, generic, or flat-out wrong. We write in-depth, species-specific husbandry guides for box turtles and semi-aquatic turtles — the kind of content we wish existed when we started keeping turtles.

What We Stand For

• Captive-bred only. Wild box turtle populations are declining. We never encourage taking animals from the wild and explain how to source legally and ethically.
• Evidence-based care. Recommendations follow current herpetoculture best practice — proper UVB, humidity, diet diversity — not old pet-store myths.
• Species-first. An ornate box turtle and a musk turtle need completely different setups. Our guides go species by species.
